Amos Jackson peacefully entered eternal rest at 8:45a.m. on Monday, February 27, 2012 at West Jefferson Medical Center. Beloved husband of 57 years to Audrey S. Jackson. Mother of Keith (Orita), Errol (Gina), Darrell (Paula), Wayne and Ivan (Lechice) Jackson, Patrice (Jerome) Brown, and Lori Jackson. Grandfather of the late Darrell Jackson, Jr. Great grandfather of the late Rayne Jackson. Son of the late Andrew and Lula Jackson. Brother of Thelma J. Green of Memphis, Tn., one twin brother, Andy Jackson of Fayette, Ms. and the late Edward, Regina, Carlie, Myrtle, Joseph, Allen, Julius, Mildred, Bernard, Laura, and Will T. Jackson. Brother in law of Vera Gougisha (the late Junior), Theresa (Wilbert) Gougis, Sr., Sheila (Willie) Lewis, Joseph (the late Gladys), Ernest, Eugene (Rosalie) and Ronald Simmons. Devoted friend of Mr. Lavern Johnson, also survived by 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other close friends. Special thanks of Drs. Shaunda Jones, V.J. Patel, Nurse Practitioner Nicole Candiff-Llorens and Oncology Staff at West Jefferson Medical Center, the Pastor and Support Ministries of the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Age: 81 years a native of Fayette, Ms. and a resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family also priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, pastors, officers, members of Good Hope Baptist Church and neighboring churches. Employees of Jefferson Parish Schools, Coca Cola Bottling Co., Audubon Engineering, U.S.D.A. National Finance Center, New England Retail Express (Sears), and People of Ages Senior Group are invited to attend the mass of Christian burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church 455 Ames Blvd. Marrero, La. on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 1:00p.m. Visitation will begin at 11:00a.m., Recitation of the rosary at 11:30a.m., and the Celebration of life 12:15p.m. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, La.
