Karen (Heavy) Thomas departed this life on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Silverridge Independent Assisted Living Home in Houston, Tx. She was previously employed by Avondale Shipyard in Avondale, La. and Corporate Waste Reduction, Inc in Harvey, La. Loving mother of Tanya Thomas. Grandmother of Darius Thomas, Dajahnae and Takira Collins of Oakland, Ca. Daughter of the late Napoleon and Betty Louise Thomas. Niece of Walter and Rozelia Ross who cared for her after the passing of her mother. Sister of Stella Bradix of Spring, Tx., Gaynel Thomas of Houston, Tx., Joyce (Anthony) McCurthy, and Patricia Thomas of Spring, Tx., Clara Jean Dunn of Bogalusa, La., Larry (Mercedes) Thomas of Harvey, La. and Jessie Lee Thomas of Bogalusa, La. Also survived by a host of other loving family and friends. Age: 52 years a native of Harvey, La. and a resident of Houston, Tx.
