Bertha Elizabeth Alfred Harang entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 29, 2011. Beloved wife of the late Harold Harang. Mother of the late James Brown, Sr. Grandmother of Faith Brown (Don) Kitchen, Kevin Brown, James (Linda) Brown, Jr., Arnold (Sheena) Brown, and the late Aaron Brown. Daughter of the late Reverend James McAlfred and Bertha Richardson Alfred. Sister of the late James, Warren, and Walter Alfred, Joseph McAlfred, Clarence Brantley, and Felice Alfred Gibson. Devoted mother in law of Janice Carey Brown. Devoted friend of Orelia Harris , the Carey girls, and the Carter family, also survived by 7 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age: 87 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, Progressive Church, St Marys Baptist and neighboring churches. Employees of Wynhoven HealthCare, Heart of Hospice, Coca-Cola, Chevron Oronite (Belle Chasse), and Great Wide Distribution, Houston, Tx. are invited to attend the funeral service at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church 1000 Walkertown Way Marrero, La. on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Dr. Thomas J. Brown, Jr. Officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Bright Star Cemetery-Marrero, La.
