John Dixon, Sr., peacefully passed away his residence and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 5:17p.m. Husband of the late Gwendolyn Ann Dixon. Loving father of John ONeal and Jermaine Dixon. Father-in law of Patricia and April Dixon. Wonderful grandfather of John, Joshua, Jasmine, Danae, Dalin, Dahja amd Dante Dixon. Son of the late Andrew, Sr. and Ophelia Dixon. Brother of Marie D. Smith of Marrero, La., Hazel Dixon of Houston, Tx. and the late James (Johns twin), Andrew, Jr., and Jude Dixon and Aleta Swift; also survived by 9 godchildren, 8 sisters-in-law, 3 brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 63 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Barataria, La. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Greater St. John Baptist Church, New Zion Baptist Church of Crown Point, La., Macedonia Baptist Church of Marrero, La. and all neighboring churches; employees of Jefferson Parish Pumping Maintenance Dept. are invited to attend the funeral service at Greater St. John Baptist Church, 2823A Privateer Blvd., Barataria, La. on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 10:00a.m. Rev. Dr. Harold E. Clark-officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Bailey Cemetery-Barataria, La.
