Irma Simmons Tross entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 24, 2012. Beloved wife of the late Emmett Donald Simmons, Sr. and Ernest Tross. Mother of Dianne S. (Emile) Carter, Margo S. (Jesse) Herman, Shelia S. (Arthur) Bennett, Pastor Thera R. S. Ellison, Emmett D. (Jackie) Simmons, Glynn R. Simmons, Dwayne (Denise) Simmons, Dwight, Randall, Derrick, and Deandre Simmons and the late Byron and Kim Troy Simmons. Daughter of the late Freddie and Mary Dennis. Sister of the late Freddie Dennis, Jr., Dorothy Norris, and Eartha Lee Carter. Mother in law of the late Pastor Dwight Ellison, Patricia Simmons, and Anna Simmons, also survived by 35 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Age: 80 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Hope of Glory Church and all neighboring churches. Employees of Davita of Marrero and Jefferson Parish School Board are invited to attend the funeral service at Hope of Glory Church 1409 Romain St. Gretna, La. on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 11:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service at the above named church.
