Marjorie Joseph Mitchell

Marjorie Mitchell entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Canon Hospice after a brief illness. Devoted and loving wife of John O. Mitchell. Mother of Candice Mitchell and the late Mia Mitchell Williams. Grandmother of Michael J. Williams, Jr. Daughter of the late Vernell and Mary LeBlanc Joseph. Sister of Rita Cadres, Leona (Leo) Graves of Darrow, La., Theresa Hamilton, John K. Joseph and Darrell (Clara) Joseph of Houston, Tx., Martin Bryan Joseph and Erick Joseph of Gretna, La., and the late Vernell (Joan) Joseph, Jr. of New Orleans, La. Sister in law of Clarence and Katherine Mitchell, Edward Mitchell, and Darlene Clark of New Orleans, La. Devoted adopted grandmother of Tyler, Janae and Robert Bocage, London and Phoenix Lindsay, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thanks go out to the Doctors and Nurses of Ochsner Hospital and Rehabilitation Center and Dr. LoBlaise and staff. Age: 71 years a native of Donaldsonville, La. and a resident of Gretna, La. Relatives and friends of the family also priest and parishioners of St. Anthony Church and neighboring churches. Employees of JPSO, Gretna Police Dept., NOPD, Lowes Home Improvement, Charity Hospital of New Orleans, and St. Augustine High School are invited to attend the mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony Church 924 Monroe St. Gretna, La. on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 11:00a.m. Father Richard Day officiating Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
