Sylvia Elaine Nevil departed this life on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at her residence. Her generous spirit and humble personality warmed the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Mother of Onekia Bell, Katrice Renell Rand, and Lee Maurice Newell. Grandmother of Zahria Nevil, Luke Nevil, LeiAira Nevil, Janiya Bell, Asia Bell, Jayda Bell, Rogel Moore, Robert Bell, and Gregory Bell, Jr. Daughter of Joseph and Coretha Nevil. Granddaughter of the late Sedonia Wilson, Olivia Taylor Mitchell, Joseph Nevil, Sr., Earnest Taylor, and Leodis Mitchell. Devoted companion of Thomas Minor. Sister of Joseph Nevil, III. Mother in law of Gregory Bell, Leigha Nevil, and the late Artemis Rand. Aunt of Patrick Nevil. Great aunt of Jayden Nevil and Josiah Nevil. Godmother of DeAndre Jackson- King, also survived by a host of great uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 57 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Zachary, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Second Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service at Second Baptist Church 2836 Sullen Place New Orleans, La. on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 11:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
