Charles J. Rose, a native and lifelong resident of Algiers, La., and a retired longshoreman, was called home on Thursday, March 22, 2012, at the age of 91. Beloved husband of Virginia Ross Rose. Devoted father of Sandra Stewart, Charles Rose, Danny Rose, Aleila Benn, a special niece who is like a daughter Joann Elder, and the late Bobby and Deidra Faye Rose. Grandfather of Syritta, Kenley, Oneka, Romeica, Brandon, and Helena. Son of the late Julius and Lucy Jacob Rose. Brother of Percy Rose and preceded in death by 10 other siblings; also survived by 8 great grandchildren and a host of many other relatives and friends. Charles was a Tech Sergeant in the United States Army in which he served in Italy during World War II, and a lifelong member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Asbury United Methodist Church, Second Baptist Church, Celebration Church, Franklin Avenue Baptist Church and neighboring churches in Algiers are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Services at Asbury United Methodist Church, 2725 Ernest St., New Orleans, La. on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 10:00a.m. Rev.
