Ben Phillip Monk departed this life for everlasting peace on Tuesday, April 27, 2010. Loving and devoted husband of Mary Lee Monk. Father Cantrelle Monk, Tony (DLacie) Monk, Ben (Ariska) Monk, Chris Monk, April (Torey) McDaniel-Jordan, Benita Monk, Alonzo McDaniel, Martina Louise (Lenard) Williams, Rene (Gary) Stinson, and the late Turrelle A. and Derrick C. Monk. Son of the late Lubertha Bell and Phil Johnson. Brother of Johnnie Bell, Leroy Bell, Eugene Bell, Elijah Bell, Willie Gilmore, Queen Beauregard, Katie Barkins, Linda Morman and Pauline Morgan; also survived by 25 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 2 aunts, 1 uncle and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age: 60 years a native of Alexandria, La. and a resident of Marrero, La. for the past 49 years. Relatives and friends of the family also, pastors, officers and member of Heavenly Star Baptist Church and neighboring churches. Employees of Westside Clinic, Family Resources, Pinnacle Home Health and Quality Support Coordinator are invited to attend the funeral service at Heavenly Star Baptist Church, 1020 Cohen St., Marrero, La. on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 10:00a.m. Rev.
