Dennis Godfrey Barnes, a retired employee of Louisiana Gas Company, departed this life on Tuesday, January 1, 2013. Beloved husband of Eloise Barnes. Loving father of Colin (Shantel) Barnes, Dr. Dennis M. (Reba) Barnes, Glendon Barnes, Evelyn (William) Joseph, Denise (Markham) Tripp, Deslyn Nelson, Leslyn (Keith) Haynes and the late Godfrey and Desmond Barnes. Son of the late Dennis Decefas Barnes and Cecelia Joseph Barnes. Grandson of the late Isabella and Joseph Caines. Brother of Marvyn Bunny (Millicent) Bond, Keeville (Geraldine) Joseph, Joyce Schultz, Olive (Dennis) Abrams, Faye (Kenneth) Haynes and the late Baby Bernice Barnes; also survived 17 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Age: 72 years a native of Georgetown, Guyana and a resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Jesus Christ Apostolic Lighthouse and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Jesus Christ Apostolic Lighthouse, 505 Kepler St. Gretna, La. on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 11:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
