Elmore George DeVore

Elmore George DeVore, at the age of 66 left this earthly life without suffering, peacefully on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at his residence surrounded by family. Beloved and devoted father of Elmore, Jr. (Andrea), Troy (Albertha), Kendrick, Sr.,Ulcef (Nakita) of Decatur, Ga.,and Yasmin Rashay DeVore and the late Brian and Markeas DeVore, Sr. Oldest son of the late Elmore Wilkerson and Geraldine Aletha DeVore. Brother of Shirley Mahoney, Gwen (Adam, Sr.) Thomas, Consuella (Willie, Sr.) Cromedy, Vanessa (Elijah) Brown, Lois Ann, Patsy and Arthur (Helen) DeVore, Sr. and the late Norma Lee DeVore. Former husband of Marion Webber and Deborah Davis DeVore. Nephew of Evangelist Gloria Smith of Seattle, Wa.; also survived by 16 grandchildren, 7 sisters-in-law, 6 brothers-in-law, 1 godchild, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A native and resident of New Orleans, La. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members, of St. Stephen Missionary, Second Nazarine and Second Baptist Churches, Asbury United Methodist, Life Center Cathedral, First Agape Outreach Churches and all neighboring churches; employees of A-1 Transportation, Davita Dialysis (Oakwood), Dees Learning Academy, Gwens Pre-School, Maxima Group Behavaior Services, Shalmon Home Health and L. B. Landry Class of 1966 are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, La. on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 10:00a.m. Rev. Bruce Tanner-officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named parlor. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery- Westwego, La.
