Oscar David Jones, Jr. departed this life on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank. He was a retired Vehicle Inspection Supervisor with the City of New Orleans and vice president of the Westbank Steppers Social Aid & Pleasure Club. Beloved husband of Donna C. Jones. Loving father of Oscar D. Jones, III, Bruce, Vernon, Corey, and Courtney Jones, Marcia J. Butler, Randell and Rashid Reed, Kizzy Youngblood, Michael Lloyd, Clarence Camese, Charles and Dana Gary and the late Yolanda Jones Roberts. Son of the late Oscar, Sr. and Maudra K. Jones. Devoted brother of Barbara Dale of Chicago, Il., Gail Lloyd, and Toni J. (Joseph) Rome of New Orleans, La. and the late Vernon, Ronnie and Larry Jones. Brother-in-law of Daniel, Shelby, Eugene, Ronald, Arthur and Roy Camese, Clara Hatcher, Sharon Refuge, Ella J. Earl and Pamela J. Landry; also survived by 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces nephews, cousin , other relatives and friends. Age: 69 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Harvey, La. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Progressive Baptist Church, Life Center Cathedral and all neighboring churches; employees of Our Lady of Wisdom Nursing Home, Department of Vehicle Inspections, Carrington Place of New Orleans and members of Westbank Steppers Social Aid & Pleasure Club are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Progressive Baptist Church, 1214 South Robertson St. New Orleans, La. on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 11:00a.m. Pastor Willie Gabel, Jr., officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
