Eddie Rice, Jr. a retired cement operator for Louisiana Industries, departed this life on Thursday February 25, 2010 at 9:04p.m.at West Jefferson Medical Center. Husband of the late Lucille Rice. Father of Barbara (John) Harris, Edward (Annie) Rice, Allen Rice, Marva Walton, Walda (Charles) Jackson, Carlette (Haywood) St. Cyr, Kelvin Walker, Sonja Walker, Shannon (Byron) Jasper, Kesia Walker, and John (Zarul) Walker, Sr. and the late Willie Anna Curtis and Patricia Ann Johnson. Son of the late Eddie and Lula Rice, Sr. Brother of the late Eliza (James) McCaleb, Cleola James, Annie Belle Gaitor, and Sallie B. Rice. Brother in law of the late Moses Walker, L.C. Powell, Douglas Walker, Cora Mae Powell, and Laura Mae Mitchell, also survived by 28 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends . Age: 88 years a native of Trailake, Ms. and a resident of Algiers, La. for at least 68 years. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Fischer Community Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service at Fischer Community Church 1737 L. B. Landry Ave. Algiers, La. on Saturday March 6, 2010 at 10:00a.m. Bishop James Nelson Brown officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. at the above named church.
