George Benjamin Mills

George Benjamin Mills, a retired employee of Naval Air Support in Belle Chasse, La., and PMI departed this life on Sunday December 12, 2010. Husband of Janie Mills. Father of Sharon L. Tatum of Pahrump, Nv., Jessie M. Mills of San Francisco, Ca., Gregory B. Mills and William L. Mills of San Francisco, Ca. Brother of Junius B. Mills of Whitman, Ma., also survived by 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Mills was a graduate of Gilbert Academy and a WWII veteran, serving in Okinawa, Japan. He was a member of the Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club, serving as Big Shot in 1980, and chairman of the clubs sickle cell fundraiser and Christmas food giveaway. George was also a member of Prince Hall Masons and was past Master of Alexander Lodge #233. Age: 84 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family, also employees past and present of Naval Air Support, PMI, and the former Charity Hospital, members of Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club are invited to attend the funeral service at Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, La. on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named parlor.
