Randolph Claudius Phipps a retired employee of Avondale Shipyard for 20 years departed this life on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at his residence. Beloved husband of 48 years Verna Phipps. Father of Melvin (Marilyn) Stephanie (Morris), Winston (Lynette) and Peter (Lynn). Son of the late Henry and Henrietta Phipps, also survived by 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 79 years a native of San Fernando, Trinidad and a resident of Marrero, La. Mr. Phipps moved to the United States in 1968 and became a citizen in 1970.Relatives and friends of the family and also pastors, officers and members of Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church are invited to attend the home going celebration at Davis Mortuary Service 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, La. on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 10:00a.m. Rev.
