Ronald (Black) (Smokie) Lee Russell departed this life at his residence on Monday, May 21, 2012. He was a graduate of John H. Martyn High School. Husband of Tanya Stepter Russell. He raised as a daughter Kameha Morgan. Son of Earnest Russell and Louise Scott. Grandson of the late Wilbert and Myrtis Craig and Nathaniel Scott. Brother of Charles Brashears, Donald Russell, Sheryl Sylve Norah, Loretta Scott, Linda Gurvin and the late Augusta Russell, also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 49 years a native and resident of New Orleans, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Oakland B.C., Beacon Light B.C., and St. John the Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service at Oakland Baptist Church 825 Rev. Richard Wilson Dr. Kenner, La. on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Providence Park Cemetery-Metairie, La.
