Thyra Clarke Allen went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 25, 2012 at West Jefferson Medical Center. Beloved wife of the late Richard Allen, Jr. Loving mother of Jacquelyn Williams, Monica Williams, Shelia Williams of Memphis, Tn., Carla (Sophronia) Williams of Oakland, Ca., George (Wanda) Williams, Jr., Elaine Cordier, Ronald (Trenella) Cordier, Troy (Stacy) Allen, Sr. and the late Thaddeus Tally Williams, Sr. and Carl (Tina) Williams, Sr. Daughter of the late Joseph J. Clarke, Sr. and Thelma Washington. Sister of Kathleen (Oliver) Lyons of Slidell, La., Joseph J. (Sharon) Clarke of Palmdale, Ca., Marcel (Gwen) Washington of McKinney, Tx., and the late Thomas (Pauline) Clarke, Sr. and Lorraine Rouzan; also survived by 31 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age: 80 years a native of Bay St. Louis, Ms. and a resident of New Orleans, La. for many years. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Franklin Avenue, True Vine Missionary and Ames Blvd. Baptist Churches and all neighboring churches; Joseph S. Clark High School Class of 1952 are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church 2515 Franklin Ave., New Orleans, La., on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Fred Luter, Jr. officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church.
