Amelia Henderson Jackson life ended on Sunday, August 28, 2011 as she transitioned to her eternal reward. She was a dedicated worker for over 40 years at Ochsner Hospital in Jefferson, La. a dutiful usher and a charter members of Second Highway Baptist Church of Marrero. Wife of the late Westley Jackson for over 50 years. Mother of Herbert, Herman, and Anthony Jackson, Carolyn Cain, Geraldine White of Paradis, La., and Gwendolyn Carter of Humble, Tx. Daughter of the late Joseph Henderson and Velma Genson. Sister of Elizabeth Williams and the late Herman Henderson. Mother in law of Daisy, Carliss, and Gwendolyn Jackson, Junious Grant White of Paradis, La. and the late Randolph Cain. Sister in law of Elvira Martin, Majorie Walker, Shirley Simmons, Ruby Jackson, and the late George Scott, Rev. Royal, Bernard, Girod and Alvin Jackson, Carrie J. Harry, Dorothy Scott, Sadie, Elizabeth, and Hilda Jackson, also survived 21 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age: 92 years a native of White Castle, La. and a resident of Paradis, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Second Highway Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the celebration of life at Second Highway Baptist Church 1533 Haydel Drive Marrero, La. on Friday, September 2, 2011 at 11:00a.m. Rev. Dr. Sherman R. Smith, Sr. officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Westlawn Cemetery-Gretna, La.
