Bernice Boyd Lawrence

Bernice Boyd Lawrence answered the Masters call to eternal rest on Wednesday, January 2, 2013. She was the devoted wife of the late Edward Lawrence II. Loving mother of Walter Woods (Lena), Claudette Wilson (Curtis), Charlie Cammon (Lynn), Danna Cammon, Perry Lawrence, Clinton Lawrence (Debra), and James Lawrence. Loving sister of Gladys Jackson and Cornelius Boyd (Emily). Bernice is survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was a life long resident of New Orleans, LA and was a member of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church # 2 where she served faithfully as a deaconess and a member of the usher board. At the time of her death, Bernice was a member of Heart 2 Heart Family Worship Center. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Heart 2 Heart Family Worship Center, Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church # 2, City of Love, Christian Fellowship, Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church of Harvey, Mount Airy Baptist Church of Boutte, Stronger Hope Baptist Church, employees of Medical Center of Louisiana, Atlanta Police Department, New Orleans Police Department, Louisiana State Police, Steamboat Natchez and General Dynamics Electric Boat are invited to attend the Visitation and Funeral Services at Franklin Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, 2515 Franklin Avenue, New Orleans, LA, on Tuesday, January 8, 2013. Pastor Fred Luter, Host Pastor, Pastor Miner Rogers, officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will conclude with a service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Providence Memorial Park.
