Beatrice Bebell Burton Powell, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 1, 2011 at West Jefferson Medical Center. Wife of the late Ackles C. Powell. Loving mother of Merlin (Charlotte) Jones of Modesto, Ca., Valery (Barbara) Burden and Mildred Powell (fiance Wayne White). Devoted grandmother of Robert D. Liddell. Daughter of the late Louisiana Savage and Ezel Burton. Sister of Delores Peterson, Paul (Frances) Peterson of Mesa, Az., and the late Allen Peterson and Corneluis Wright; also survived by 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 15 great great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 86 years a native of Lockport, La. and a resident of Gretna, La. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Regular Baptist Church, and neighboring churches; members of the Star of Hope #17, OES (P.H.A.), Emmanuel Cooper Temple #912; employees of Superior Energy (Marine Division), Advanced Building Products, City of Gretna, and the Gretna Police Department are invited to attend the funeral service at Regular Baptist Church, 901 Fifth Street, Gretna, La. on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 10:00a.m. Rev. Dr. T. A. Hodge-officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Christian Social Cemetery- Gretna, La.
