Elizabeth (Lizabeth) Ellis Wade transitioned to her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 23, 2011. Beloved wife of the late John Boyd Wade. Loving mother of Johnell Wade, Sr., Velda Wade Carruth, Jacqueline W. Chandler, Michelle W. Thorn, and Dina W. Collins, and the late Ebbie Cummings, Jr. Stepmother of Bailey Cummings, Angela Cummings, and Gloria Cummings of Philadelphia, PA., Herman and Ebbie Cummings of Long Island, NY., Ruth and Millie Cummings of Columbia, SC. Devoted cousin of Betty West Shelton. Mother in law of Barbara Cummings, Marie Samples, Fabolia Franklin, Betty M. Wade, Christian Collins, Albert Weber, and Ashton Lawrence, also survived by 17 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Age: 89 years a native of Natchez, MS. and a long time resident of Avondale, LA. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Atonement Lutheran Church, Abundant Life Tabernacle, Full Gospel Baptist Church, New Orleans Triumph Baptist Church, and The New Genesis Bible Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church 1401 Simon Bolivar Blvd. New Orleans, LA. on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church.
