Ora Ivy Lee Decou who made her lifes mission to help other passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2011, at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank at 3:45p.m. Ora Lee Decou, known to many as Ivy Lee was born on August 28, 1944, and attended Rosenwalt Elementary and Lincoln High School; as she was known for her generosity and passionate spirit. Daughter of the late Arthur Royal and Rosalie Winchester. Wife of the late Jerry Decou. Devoted mother Robert Lionel Griffin, Jr., and Terry Ann Decou. Adopted mother of Jerome Ratcliff. Grandmother of John Decou, Ronquelle Roberson and Steven Griffin. Sister of Marion (Lionel) Bouton, Gewayne Mumphrey, Barbara Jefferson, Cora Carter, Shelita Davis and the late Curtis Royal. Godmother of Farrow Bouton and Patrick Baxter. Devoted aunt of Gwendolyn Franklin. Devoted niece of Leola Winchester; also survived by 1 great-grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends. Age: 66 years a native of Marrero, La. , and a resident of Algiers, La. for 47 years Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church #3, First Free Mission, St. Marys Baptist Church, Mt. Herman Calvary Full Gospel, New Home Ministries and all neighboring churches. Employees of Job Link, Morial Convention Center, Avondale Shipyard, Louisiana Superdome, N.O. Hilton Hotel, Creek Services, Popeye Chicken, Cross Road and SIL and members of Thursday Nite Crew, Algiers Sensations Social and Pleasure Club, Ladies of Soul Club, Nomtoc Jugs and L. B. Landry Alumni are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church #3, 441 Wilson St., Marrero, La. on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 10:30a.m. Pastor Norman D. Smith, III-officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery and Mausoleum-Westwego, La.
