Henderson Jules Wilson, Sr. departed this life on Wednesday, November 10, 2010. He was born May 2, 1917 to the union of the late Sarah Sanford Wilson and Henry Wilson. Father of Henderson Wilson, Jr., Jerry Wilson, Calvin (Betty) Wilson and the late Jimmy Wilson, Sr. Grandfather of Henderson Wilson, III, Azena, David, Gerald, Alden, Malcolm, Eugene, and Christina Wilson, Uvette Barthelemy, Michele Walker, Sicily Lambert, Brad and Dwayne McIntyre , Andrew Stamps, Stanley Johnson and the late Laura and Jimmy Wilson, Jr. Honorary grandfather of Guy Patterson, Jr. Brother of Julia Wilson Culver and the late Mack Wilson, Henry Wilson, Charles Robinson, Jr., Uriah and Frank Robinson, Kate Wilson and Mary Wilson Vaugh. Companion of the late Nellie Jackson and his former wife Melvina Edwards. Brother-in-law of Yvonne Cannon Robinson; also survived by a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In his early years he was employed at Celotex and Johns Manville. He later became a self-made business man in scrap metal for over 50 years until his final illness at the age of 93. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the home going service at New Philadelphia Baptist Church, 9027 Sanford Lane, Slaughter, La., on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 10:00a.m. Viewing on Friday, November 19, 2010 at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, 6533 Acre Rd., Marrero, La from 6-8p.m. Interment: New Philadelphia Cemetery-Slaughter, La. Motorcade to Slaughter, La. will depart promptly at 7:30a.m., on Saturday, November 20, 2010 from 6120 Second Ave., Marrero, La. (his residence).
