R. J. Harris known lovingly as Nub entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 13, 2010. Beloved husband of Mamie Curtis Harris. Loving father of Mary Harris Robinson, Loretta Harris Gray and Jerome Harris all of Marrero, La. Grandfather of Brandon Savage. Son of the late Ceasar and Mary Jane Harris. Bother of Luther (Lula) Harris, Pearline (Robert) Jenkins all of Toledo, Oh. , Ruth Harris of Jackson, Ms., Amos (Mary) Harris of New Orleans, La., John (Nicole) Harris of Marrero, La. and the late Della Mae Brown, Katie Bell Harris, Ceasar Harris, Jr. and Andrew Harris. Father-in-law of Harrison Gray and the late Herman Robinson, Jr. Son-in-law of the late Chapman and Mamie Curtis. Brother-in-law of Robert Jenkins and the late Lonnie Brown and Chapman Curtis, Jr. Special uncle of Ernest Curtis. Devoted cousin of Willie Harris; also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 77 years a native of Utica, Ms. and a lifelong resident of Marrero. La. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Little Zion Missionary B. C. #3, Morning Star B.C., Progressive B.C., Macedonia B. C., Second Zion B.C., Rock of Ages B.C., Regular B. C., Cypress Grove B. C., St. Matthew B. C. and all neighboring churches. Employees of Ochsner Hospital, United Medical Hospital, Hearts of Hospice of Marrero, La., Rescare, Magnolia School, West Jefferson Hospital, Intralox, Semco Ind., Harris Construction, Hydradyne Hydralics, Southern Scrap and Mississippi Recycle Co. are invited to attend the funeral service at Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church #3, 441 Wilson St., Marrero, La. on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Norman D. Smith, III-officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m until service time at the above named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, La.
