Norman Alexander Watkins, Sr., was born on March 3, 1954, departed this life to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 16, 2010. Father of Norman Watkins, Jr. and Normesha Payton. Son of Clara S. Taylor and the late Clarence Watkins. Brother of Stanley, Clarence, Leonard, Fredrick, Ronald, Carolyn F. Williams, Gwendolyn W. Scott, Lorna M. Lilly and Kimberly W. Dixon. Grandson of the late Dorothy S. Grant; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Age: 56 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Harvey, La. Relatives and friends of the family also, pastors, officers, and members of Greater Mount Calvary Church and Progressive Church are invited to attend the funeral service at Progressive Church, 437 Cohen St., Marrero, La. on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 9:00a.m. Pastor Sterling Mealancon Host Pastor, Elder Terry Gullage of Greater Mount Calvary Church-officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
