Bernardine Young Smith, an X-ray Technician at West Jefferson Medical Center departed this life on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at her residence. She was a graduate of L.W. Higgins High School and Ochsner School of Radiologic Technology. Loving wife of Frank Smith, Sr. Devoted mother of Frank (Shenell) Smith, Jr., Michael (Julianna) Smith and Jessie (Troy) Tigler. Daughter of the late Bernard Young, Sr. and Gloria Lombard. Stepdaughter of Mary Young. Granddaughter of the late Clarisa and Peter James Young. Sister of Robert Young, June Green and the late Peter, Sr., Bernard, Jr., and Michael Anthony Young; also survived by 6 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Age: 58 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Life Center FGBC, St. Joseph and Little Zion #3 Baptist Churches and all neighboring churches; employees of West Jefferson Medical Center, Winn Dixie, Office Depot, Wynhoven Health Care, Ochsner, and Orleans Parish School System are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, La. on Monday, July 30, 2012 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 7:30a.m. until service time at the above named parlor.
