Rudolph Anthony Edwards

Rudolph Rudy Edwards, age 72, entered into his eternal rest on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Tulane University Hospital. Beloved father of Darvell Edwards-Richard (Raymond) and Dwayne A. Edwards (Quintrice). Brother of Carolyn E. Holton (Tommy). Grandfather of Jared Richard, Ashley, Taylor and Hailey Edwards, and Charles Stokes. Preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland Sr. and Cora Edwards and two brothers (Cleveland Jr. and Harry Edwards), also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren and other relatives and friends. Rudy was a retired member of the U.S. Army and the Jefferson Parish Sheriffs Office. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and attended Xavier University. He loved his family and real estate. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker and Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Churches and all neighboring churches, employees of Jefferson Parish Public School System, F. Christiana and Co., and Jefferson Parish Sheriffs Office are invited to attend services on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 455 Ames Blvd., Marrero, LA. Visitation at 9 AM, Rosary at 9:45, Celebration of Life at 10:30, and Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Fr. Otis Young officiating. Interment in Restlawn Cemetery, Avondale, LA. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to or blood donations made to The Blood Center of Southeast Louisiana.
