Gertrude Price Yates, a retired food technician with Orleans Parish School System, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 1, 2012 at her residence. Beloved wife of the late Ashley Yates, Sr. Devoted mother of Ray Davis, Doris Davis (Clarence) Mosby, Paul (Shannon) Davis, Pollyana Yates (John, Jr.) Brooks, and the late Dianne Davis and William Shink Davis, III. Grandmother of Elder Sylvester, Jermaine, Brandon, Jeremiah, Donye, Keith, Ray, Kendrick, Kimberly, Ebony, James, John, III, Ashleigh and Kelsey. Daughter of the late Henry Price, Sr. and Amelia Washington Price. Sister of Henry Price, Sr., Curtis, Donald and Wilbert Price and Edna Price Lloyd; also survived by 19 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Age: 81 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Gretna, La. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second Baptist Church, Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, City of Love and Morning Star Baptist Church; employees of Orleans and Jefferson Parish School Systems and Concerned Care Hospice are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Second Baptist Church, 2836 Sullen Place, New Orleans, La. on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Taza Green, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
