Cora Mae (Grandma) Sayles entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Ochsner Hospital. Cora Mae retired from Jefferson Parish School Board after 30 years of service. Wife of the late Sam Terrell and Louis Sayles. Mother of Leotha (Dorthene) Terrell, Annie Chess, Mattie (Isiah) Parker and Lennie Smith. Daughter of the late Boston Fultz and Mary Williams. Aunt of Mary Doris, Angela Casey, Debra Jones, Willie T. and Willie Lee Hughes. Godmother of Alma Loston and Roosevelt Ester, also survived by 13 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 19 great great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Age: 87 years a native Hazelhurst, Ms. and a resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Rock Of Ages Baptist Church and neighboring churches. Members of Daughter of Golden Gate Temple # 740 and Daughter of Universal Grand Chapter O.E.S. are invited to celebrate her life on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 7:00p.m. at Rock of Ages Baptist Church 6533 Acre Rd. Marrero, La. Rev . Gilbert Barnes Pastor and Rev. A. Loston of Saint Rock Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will begin at 5:00p.m. until service time at the church. Funeral service will be held at Westhaven Memorial Funeral Home in Utica, Ms. on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at 12:00noon Interment: Little Zion Cemetery Hermanville, Ms. Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, La.
