Joseph Edward Gilbert

Joseph (Lil Joe) Edward Gilbert departed this life on Monday, May 10, 2010 of natural causes. He graduated from Lincoln High School Class of 1967. Husband of the late Dorothy Pike Gilbert. Father of Shannon, Shandrell (Thaddeus),Shelisa, and Brianna. Son of the late Charlie and Mary Gilbert. Brother of Jonetta, Darnell, Marshall, Charlie, Joseph, and the late Elijah Joseph and Emmett C. Gilbert, Sr. Nephew of Joseph Carroll, Constance Carroll, and Fannie McTier, also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Age: 61 years a native of Waterproof, La. and a resident of Marrero, La. for the past 30 years. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, New Home Ministries, Dominion and Power Ministries, Franklin Avenue and neighboring churches. Employees of Jefferson Parish Public School System, Divine Inspiration, M & M, Truman Middle School , and Helen Cox are invited to attend the funeral service at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church 1419 4th St. Westwego, La. on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 10:00a.m. Rev. Woodrow Hayden officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, La.
