McArthur Douglas Moten

McArthur (Mac) (Big Mac) Douglas Moten, a self employed carpenter, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at West Jefferson Medical Center. He was a faithful member of Second Zion Baptist Church since January 1997, and actively involved in the music ministry. Loving husband of Gretchen B. Moten. Father of Douglas McArthur Moten of Tulsa, OK. Stepfather of Dionndra Lemar. Son of the late Walter Moten, Sr. and Roberta Bowser Moten. Brother of John (Rose) Moten of Las Vegas, NV, Olantha Moten (Henry) Everfield of Lake Providence, LA, Dorothy Moten Johnson of Slidell, LA and the late Walter Moten, Jr. and Susie Spencer. Devoted godfather of Lisa Brooks (David) Caddle of Jackson, MS; also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age: 67 years a native of Lake Providence, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second Zion Baptist Church, New Salem Church of Christ Holiness, New Greater St. Luke Baptist Church, and Mound Chapel Baptist Church of Lake Providence, LA; staff of the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals-Health Standards Section and Ochsner Hospital are invited to attend the funeral service at Second Zion Baptist Church, 6520 Second Zion Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 10:00a.m. Bishop James Nelson Brown-officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30am until service time at the above named church. Interment: Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery- Westwego. LA Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, La.
