Orelia Ross Powell departed her life on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Tulane Medical Center. Beloved wife of the late Emanuel Powell, Sr. Mother of Theresa and Alicia Powell and the late Emanuel Powell, Jr. Adopted mother of Fannie McKnight. Daughter of the late Mary Green Ross and Fred Ross, Sr. Sister of Eva Ross Davis, and Shirley Ross Joseph, John, Richard, Fred, and Eugene Ross and the late Mary Ann Ross Bush, Amy Ross Carter, Doretha Ross Wilson, Anita Ross Robinson, James and Rudolph Ross. Mother in law of Pastor Joan Powell. Sister in law of Louise, Ethel, and Joan Ross and Queen Pittman of Sacramento, Ca. Devoted friend of Marion Crump and Maryann Narcisse. Devoted cousin Lilly Taylor, also survived by 10 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 20 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age: 88 years a native and resident of New Orleans, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church 1249 Leboeuf St. New Orleans, La. on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 10:00a.m. Rev.
