Nedra Charles Davis Melancon, a registered nurse at Westbank Physicians Rehab and Louisiana Medical Management entered into eternal rest Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 1:00p.m. She was a graduate of Walter L. Cohen High School Class of 1972, the University of New Orleans and Touro School of Nursing. Nedra was a faithful and dedicated member of First Street Peck Wesley United Methodist Church where she was Worship Chairperson, Adult Usher President and Youth Sunday School Teacher. Beloved wife of Valentine Louis Melancon. Devoted mother of Dr. Keion D. Davis and Shantrese K. Davis. Loving grandmother of Kahlon P. Davis. Daughter of the late Julius Charles, Jr. and Myrtle Garner Charles. Stepdaughter of Odeal B. Charles. Granddaughter of Julius Charles, Sr., Australia Carney Charles, Rev. Simon McCinon Garner and Dathna Nero Garner. Sister of Julius Charles, III, Carolyn C. Bowers, Shelia C. Hall and Shawn Charles; also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Age: 58 years, a native and resident of New Orleans, La.
