Karen Porter-Bridges

Karen Porter-Bridges, 51 years young, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at West Jefferson Medical Center due to a heart attack ending a very special life. Karen is survived by her lucky charm of 31 years, Barrit Barry Bridges. Loving mother of Grandison and his wife Teoka Porter, Rene Porter and Darius Bridges of New Orleans, La. Stepmother of Nawatha and Quana Bridges. Daughter of the late Grandison, Sr. and Beulah Johnson; also survived by 11 grandchildren, 9 sisters, 6 brothers, 6 sisters-in-law, 5 brothers-in-law, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A native of New Orleans, La., and a resident of Avondale, La Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Herman Baptist Church are invited to attend the funeral service at Mt. Herman Baptist Church, 3512 Highway 90 W, Avondale, La. on Friday, September 30, 2011 at 10:00a.m. Bishop Sean T. Elder-officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, La.
