Gwendolyn "Gwen" Rose Bridges departed this life on Monday, September 24, 2012 at Ochsner Foundation Medical Center. She was a graduate of L. B. Landry Senior High School and Straight Business College. Loving daughter of the late Emily and Emile Rose, Sr. Sister of Emile Rose, Jr. Niece of Myrtle Sargent and Amy Celestan. Aunt of Jamisen Rose, Hashika Rose Sanders, Micah and Naihla Rose. Great aunt of Sanay Ani Carr. Godmother of Beth Williams. Former wife of Walter Bridges. Devoted friend of Johnnie Thibodeaux, Brenda Meredith, Glenda Morton, and Genevieve Davison; also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Age: 69 years a native and resident of New Orleans, La. Relatives and friends of the family, also Bishop, officers and members of Fischer Community Church, St. Mary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; employees of The Navy Exchange of New Orleans, Textron Marine and Hand Systems are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Fischer Community Church, 1737 L. B. Landry Ave., New Orleans, La. on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 11:00a.m. Bishop James N. Brown, officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
