Edward Benn departed this life at Hospice of Baton Rouge, La. on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at 11:32p.m. Son of Willie and Genevieve Benn. Father of Pearl Stokes, Cecilia Harper, Larry Devall, Larry Benn, Oral Johnson, Janice Benn, Gia Benn Varnado, and Demetria Benn Barksdale. Brother of Annie Lou Cosey, Gloria Benn Thompson, and the late Vivian Jordan, Selena Benn, Bernice Walker, Lionel MacDonald, Sr. and Eugene Benn, also survived by a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 86 years a native and a resident of New Orleans, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Asbury United Methodist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service at Asbury United Methodist Church 2725 Ernest St. Algiers, La. on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 10:00a.m. Rev. Andrew Douglas officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Friends of Charity Cemetery-Algiers, La.
