Gertrude The Great Canselo Cooper Streeter, entered into eternal rest Thursday, August 18, 2011. Daughter of the late Cora Ballard and Jackson Cooper. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Earl Streeter. Loving mother of Audamease (Robert) Cage, Martha (Dalton) Smith, Bertha (Russell) Lucas, Stella, Sandra, Cynthia, Gail, Sharon and Valrice Cooper, Veranice Canselo and the late Theresa Jones, Gary and Newman Shief, Otha and Reginald Canselo. Sister of the late John, Alvin, And Cary Cooper, Nancy Peck and Willie Mae Monroe. Also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was educated in Orleans Parish Schools and baptized at First Morning Star Baptist Church. Age: 91 years a native of New Orleans and a resident of Algiers, La. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Sunrise B.C., Regular B.C., Shiloh M.B.C., Faith in Action M.B.C., Fischer Community Church, and all neighboring churches; employees of VA Medical Center, U. S. Postal Service, Ochsner, Canon Hospice, St. Lukes and Delgado Community College are invited to attend the funeral service at Sunrise Baptist Church, 1325 LeBouef St. Gretna, La. on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 10:00a.m. Elder James Cheatteam-officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, La. Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, La.
