Dorothy Doris Caldwell Hookfin, a retired cafeteria manager of the Tangipahoa Parish School System, peacefully entered into eternal life on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, surrounded by loved ones, at the age of 86. She was a native of Tangipahoa, La. and resident of Kentwood, La. Beloved wife of the late Joseph M. Hookfin. Daughter of the late Benny and Samella Caldwell. Loving mother of Brenda H. (Larry) Williams of Ponchatoula, La., Billy (Joyce) Hookfin of Kenner, La., and the late Donald Hookfin. Grandmother of Denise and Devan Hookfin, and Shanell Williams all of Las Vegas, Nv., Erica Williams Bell of Baton Rouge, La., JoShawna Williams of Houston, Tx., Bennie Hookfin of Metairie, La. and the late Travis Williams. Great grandmother of Breauna Cole, Donte, Dezirae and Devan Hookfin and Shantavia Preston. Sister of Mittie Nell Carter, Evelyn Lucien and the late Naomi Pope, Helen Cook, Delia Hall, Brunette Coleman and Bennie Caldwell; also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Quinn Chapel AME Church, Greater St. James AME Church of Hammond, La. and New Hope Community Church of Kenner, La.; employees of St. Tammany Hospice, Tangipahoa Parish School System and Kentwood High School are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Quinn Chapel AME Church, 70198 Martin Luther King St. Tangipahoa, La. on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 11:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m.-10:45a.m. at the above named church.
