Sherman A. Rogers entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank. He served 2 years in the Army and was a longtime superintendent for the City of New Orleans Sanitation Department. Longtime love and husband of 48 years to Gladys Rogers (Faithful member of St. Paul Baptist Church, Pastor Orin Grant). Father of Williams Riggins, Jr., Marsha Perry, Felton Riggins, Sr., Rudolph Riggins, July Ellis, Wendell Riggins, Sr., Jerome Riggins, Sr., Adolph Riggins, Sr. and Denise Arceneaux. Son of the late Catherine and Clifton Rogers. He was raised by his grandmother the late Arsene Julian; also survived by 38 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, other relative and friends. Age: 76 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Gretna, La. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officer and member of St. Paul Baptist Church, priest and parishioners of All Saints Catholic Church and al neighboring churches; employees of the City of New Orleans Sanitation Dept. are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at All Saints Catholic Church, 1441 Teche St., New Orleans, La., on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 10:00a.m. Father Michael Saah-Buckman-celebrant Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. unitl service time at the above named church. Interment: McDonogville Cemetery-Gretna, La. Repast: Gretna Community Center Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, La.
