Donald Ray Fisher entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 3, 2012. Donald Ray Fisher was born on September 5, 1951 in New Orleans, LA. , the fourth child born to the union of the late Wilbert Fisher, Sr. and Lillie Mae Fisher. Donald Ray Fisher attended the New Orleans Parish School System and graduated from George Washington Carver Senior High School in May of 1970. In August of 1970, Donald entered into the United States Air Force to serve our country. During his active duty in the military, Donald fought in the Vietnam War. In 1974, Donald married and to this union was born his only child Trishund Fisher " Wilkins. After his active military duty was served, Donald moved to Sacramento, CA. where he continued his military career at Mather Air Force Base for four years. In 1988, Donald returned to New Orleans, LA. to be closer to his family. Once residing in New Orleans, he obtained employment with the United States Postal Service where he later retired. Donald Ray Fisher will be remembered as a loving son, brother, father, uncle and friend. There are several things that will be missed about Donald including his love of music, the ability to make every situation memorable and the love for his family. Donald Ray Fisher leaves to cherish his loving memories, his mother, Lillie Mae Fisher, two brothers, Wilbert (Lucy) Fisher Jr. and Richard (Christine) Fisher, Sr. of Los Angeles, CA. His daughter, Trishund (Tim) Wilkins, two granddaughters, Brittany and Ashley Wilkins, his step daughter, Tameca Tisby, his step-grand daughter , Larriah Jackson, a host of nieces , nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Donald was preceded in death by his father, Wilbert Fisher, Sr., one brother, James Carl Fisher and two sisters, Pamela Ketchens and Paula Lewis. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, La. on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 10:00a.m. Rev. Joseph Darby-officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named parlor. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery- Avondale, La.
