Oscar Aldridge Hansberry, departed this life on Tuesday, January 11, 2011. He was a retired United States postal worker. Devoted and beloved husband of Ruby Magee Hansberry. Father of Elizabeth Gambrell , U. Aldridge Hansberry, Lucia Lindsay, Patricia Williams, Rosalie Williams, Timothy Moore, Lester Moore, and Darryl Veal. Son of the late Oscar Henry and Annie Osceola (nee Aldridge) Hansberry. Brother of Osceola (Bonnie) Hankins, also survived by a host grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cosuins, other relatives and friends . Age: 88 years a native of Bessemer, Al. and a resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, New Zion Baptist Church of Marrero, and neighboring churches. Members of Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club, Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Louisiana, Mt. Olive Lodge # 21 and employees of United States Postal Service (Main branch/Loyola Avenue) are invited to attend the funeral service at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 2700 Louisiana Avenue, New Orleans, La. on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Lawrence P. Gaines and Rev Austin Dennis, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, La.
