Richard Lewis entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at East Jefferson General Hospital. Beloved husband of Dolores Taylor Lewis of 53 years. Father of Antoinette Lewis Higgins and Wanda Lewis Robinson. Grandfather of Heath, Sr., Shawn, and Jamar Higgins, Corey and Ebony Anderson, and Ashley Bosby. Son of the late Benny and Ernestine Tross Lewis. Brother of Arthur and Percy Lewis and Ernestine Lewis Hogan. Brother in law of Mercedes and Gardener Taylor and Desi Rae Taylor Webber, also survived by 17 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 73 years a native of Gretna, La. and a resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and memers of St. Joseph Baptist Church, Life Center, Trumpet of Zion, Morning Star Baptist Church and neighboring churches. Employees of Ochsner Medical Center Westbank, Clinic of Baton Rouge, Wal Mart Superstore, Sams Club, Miller Wall School and Greif Industry are invited to attend the funeral service at Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, La. on Thursday November 4, 2010 at 11:00a.m. Pastor Melvin Zeno officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m.until service time at the above named parlor.
