Vernon R. Butler a former backhoe operator departed this life on Thursday, February 1, 2011 at 6:50p.m. Mr. Butler was born in New Orleans, La. and lived in Marrero, La. Father of Sabrina Butler, Kinya Hampton, and the late Vernon R. Butler, III. Son of the late Mildred J. Butler and Vernon R. Butler, Sr. of Marrero, La. Stepson of the late Irvin A. Butler. Brother of Wayne, Kevin, and Craig Butler, Diedre Davis and Patrice Sims. Son in law of the late Emma Gumms and Benjamin Walker. Father in law of Elijah Scott. Brother in law of Janice and Janet Butler, Karl Davis, Sr., and Victor Sims, Sr. Devoted friend of Marilyn Wagner, also survived by 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age: 59 years Relatives and friends also priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, pastors, officers, and members of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches. Employees of BrightWay Signs, California Custom Collision Center, Wal-Mart, and DHH-Office of Public Health are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 455 Ames Blvd. Marrero, La. on Monday, February 7, 2011 at 10:00a.m. Father Otis W. Young, Celebrant Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church, Recitation of the rosary at 8:45a.m., Celebration of life at 9:30a.m. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, La.
