Leon Raymond Wade, Jr.

WADE Leon Raymond Wade, Junior departed this life on Tuesday, January 8, 2013. He was 78. He was born January 30, 1934 in New Orleans. He served in the Navy 1951 - 1954. He worked at Shell Oil Company for 30 years. A passionate artist, he studied and taught art throughout his life. He graduated Magna Cum Laude on May 20, 1989 with a BA in Fine Art from SUNO. He taught in Orleans Parish Public Schools " Gifted and Talented Program. He was also a member of the Lutheran Church for over 50 years. Hes preceded in death by his first wife Janice Butler and second wife Agnes Osborne Joseph, parents, Leon Wade, Senior and Maggie King Geatreaux, and sisters Doris Mae Lewis and Jean Wade. Hes survived by his children: Sheldon Wade, Sharon Wade Cook, Cindy Wade Mayo (Bryan), and Steven Wade (Tiffany) " grandchildren, Brian Paul Mayo, Jr., Stephanie Elizabeth Wade, Christian Leon Mayo, and Frank Wade Cook, III. He will be missed by many relations, friends, and acquaintances. Visitation is Saturday, January 19, 2013, 9:00 AM " 11:00 AM followed by Funeral Services 11:00 AM " 12:00 PM, at Mount Zion Lutheran Church, 1401 Simon Bolivar Ave, New Orleans, LA.
