Sam Johnson, Jr., departed this life on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at West Jefferson Medical Center. Beloved Husband of Frances Lawrence Johnson. Father of Linda Henderson, Karen (Raymond) Hicks, Gregory, Terald, and Kenneth Johnson, Alisha (Darnell) Hawkins, Kanettra (Stafford) Brignac, and the late Bobby Collins, Sylvia, Jennifer and Pam Johnson. Son of the late Sam, Sr. and Luevenia Johnson. Brother of Clotea Smith of Harvey, La., Carrie Jean Banks of Port Arthur, Tx., James, Herman and Alex (Sharon) all of Detroit, Mi. and the late Annese Trask, Lula Jefferson, Ernest Johnson and Johnny Johnson. Also survived by 20 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age: 70 years a native of Ferriday, La. and a resident of Bridge City, La. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Ephesus Baptist Church, Macedonia Baptist Church, Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church and all neighboring churches. Employees of Progressive Health, Memorial Home Health, Avondale Shipyard, Community Care and GCA Services are invited to attend the funeral service at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 414 Westwego Ave. Bridge City, La. on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 10:00a.m. Rev. George Davis-officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, La.
