Earline Slater Gilmore

Earline Granny Slater Gilmore departed this life at her residence on Thursday, November 29, 2012. Mother of Gertie Mae Walls, Virginia S. Tuggle, Rosetta Roussell, Mary Gilmore (Ernest) Mitchell, James Gilmore (Diane) Percy, and Jeremiah C. (Tanshia) Peterson and the late Dorothy Gilmore and Sylvester Slater, Sr. Daughter of the late Virginia and Alex Slater. Favorite aunt of Mary Baptiste Cummings, also survived by 21 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Age: 94 years a native of Welcome, La. and a resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Macedonia Baptist Church, Rock of Ages Baptist Church and all neighboring churches. Employees of Jefferson Parish Sheriff Office, J. P. Street Dept., and St. John Grand Lodge Daughters of the Universal Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star are invited to attend the funeral service at Macedonia Baptist Church 1219 Cohen Ave. Marrero, La. on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 10:00a.m. Rev. Albert Mickel officiating Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, La. Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
