Joseph Jones Sr. entered into eternal rest on Monday March 14, 2011 at Ochsner Medical Center Jefferson, La. Devoted Husband of Stephanie Henderson Jones of 35 years. Beloved father of Harold Patterson, Joseph Jones Jr. , Jeremy Trask, Defonte Carson, Tiffany Jones- Joseph and Denikka Carson. Son of Lionel E. Jones Sr. and Clara"Mae Garrison Jones. Grandson of Joseph and Anise Jones and Leotha and Wilmer Garrison. also survived by 7 grandchildren, 9 brothers and sister and a host of aunts , uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 50 Years a native of New Orleans, La. and a Resident of Westwego, La. . Mr. Jones was educated in the Jefferson Parish School System. He had a lifelong passion for sports where he participated as a referee and umpire for Jefferson Parish Recreation Department and Floyd Officiating Services. Joseph Jones Sr. volunteered his time to the Westwego Recreation Department where he played the role of booster club member, supporter mentor and coach. Over the last 19 years he lead his boys basketball team to several winning seasons including two back to back championships of 2010 and 2011.
