Awella Byas White entered into eternal rest at her sisters residence on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 10:00a.m. Beloved wife of the late Edward White, Sr. Mother of Edward White, Jr. and Earl White. Grandmother of Daryn White,Nyra White, Eldridge Nelson,and Jamal Lawson. Daughter of the late Saul and Viola Byas. Sister of Hilda Mathieu, Mable Martin, and the late Samuel Byas, Sr., Vandella B. Wiggins, and Leola B. Sullivan, also survived by a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 88 years a native of Belle Alliance, La. and a resident of Gretna, La. Relatives and friend of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Regular Baptist Church and neighboring churches. Employees of West Jefferson and Ochsner Medical Center are invited to attend the funeral service at Regular Baptist Church 901 5th St. Gretna, La. on Friday, August 20, 2010 at 10:00a.m. Rev. Toy A. Hodge officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Christian Social Cemetery-Gretna,La.
