Matthew Oneal Mitchell departed this life onTuesday, February 21, 2012. Husband of the late Bernnie Mikell Mitchell. Father of Valarie Denyse (Kenneth) Hogan, Beverly Annette, Terry Lynette, Keren Nikkie , and Mathina Arneil. Son of the late Joseph Mitchell and Geneva Steib Mitchell. Brother of Annabelle Christian, Grace (Harold) Harry, and the late Joseph (Tim) Mitchell, and Claude Mitchell. Son in law of the late William and Leona Mikell. Brother in law of Linda Meredith, Robert Mikell, Milton (Betty) Mikell, Melvin Mikell, and the late Calvin Mikell, Warren Christian, and Beverly Mikell. Survived by his sons in the Lord Michael Hunter, Derrick Kelley, and Deacon Chris Davis, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Age: 76 years a native of Westwego, La. and a resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Thompson Temple Church of God In Christ were invited to attend the funeral service at the host church United Fellowship Gospel Baptist Church 2100 Ames Blvd. Marrero, La. on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 11:00a.m. Visitation began at 9:00a.m. at the church. Bishop Tommy Triplett host pastor / Elder Keith Thornton officiating Family and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity visitation was held at Davis Mortuary Service 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, La. on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 7:00p.m. until 9:00p.m. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, La.
