James (Mr. P) Perry Champagne, Sr. entered into his eternal resting place at his residence surrounded by his family on Friday May 20, 2011. Beloved husband of Marie Phillip Champagne. Father of Iris (Byron) Fennidy, Anna (Tracey) Bailey, Laverne Champagne, James (Roshanda) Champagne, Jr., and Sabrina (Kirtlen) Patin. Grandfather of the late Dwayne (Turtle) A. Champagne, and James Champagne, III. Son of the late McCuloh and Almedia Champagne. Brother of Audrey Lumzy, Gary Champagne, and the late McCuloh, Jr., Elwin, and Charles. Brother in law of Janice, Doris, Rachel, Joyce, Nita, Charles, June and the late Barney, Will, Terold, Edwine, and Julius, also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age: 79 years a native and a resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family also priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church 455 Ames Blvd. Marrero, La. on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 10:00a.m. Father Otis celebrant Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
